Pro Plus is the current plan for founding members. As well as the full individual feature set, it includes up to four additional accounts for people of your choice — each one completely private and independent from yours. No one can see anyone else’s records. The only connection is the billing. This is an introductory rate. Pro Plus reflects the fuller offer available to founding members now. Over time, the standard Pro plan will return to a single individual account. If you want to secure the multi-account benefit at the current price, this is the time to do it.

No — and this is one of the most important things to understand. Accidents, sudden illness, and medical emergencies can happen at any age. If you were in hospital tomorrow and could not speak for yourself, would the right people know your healthcare instructions? Would they know where your documents are, who to call, what to do with your pets? Be Sure They Know is for anyone with people who love them or depend on them. The earlier you put a plan in place, the more protected everyone around you is.

Because memory is unreliable, especially under stress. When something happens — a sudden illness, a medical emergency, a death — the people around you are often in shock. Even well-intentioned people can misremember, disagree, or simply not know what you wanted. Written records eliminate that uncertainty. They are also far more complete: most people have never told anyone where their insurance documents are, who their solicitor is, or what they actually want for their arrangements. Be Sure They Know gives you a calm, private place to record all of it, once, in your own words — and then keep it updated as life changes.

Yes — and we think this matters enormously. The things you record here are genuinely precious: your instructions, your messages, your story. You should never be entirely dependent on any online service to hold them for you. Pro Plus includes complete export. Every section of your plan can be exported as a formatted PDF. You can also export your full data in a portable format. We recommend doing a fresh export whenever you make significant changes — save a copy to your personal device, a USB drive, a trusted cloud folder, or hand one to a solicitor or someone close to you. A printed copy kept somewhere known is still one of the most reliable ways to make sure your instructions are found. Upgrade to Pro Plus to unlock export.

You own your content completely. We have no claim on anything you have written, and we will never delete it without your instruction. If you cancel Pro Plus, your account moves to Essentials — everything you have recorded stays exactly where it is, and you can continue to read and edit it. Pro Plus features (video messages, sharing settings, export) will not be available until you resubscribe, but nothing is lost.

If we ever had to shut down the service — which we have no plans to do — we would give you meaningful advance notice and time to export everything. This is precisely why we encourage Pro Plus subscribers to keep regular local exports: a copy on your own device means your records survive regardless of what happens to us or to the internet.

Yes, as often as you like. Your plan is a living record — not something you fill in once and forget. Come back whenever circumstances change: a new account to note, a new relationship, a new pet, a change of heart about your arrangements. Every entry is saved automatically. On Pro, we recommend exporting a fresh copy after any significant update so your offline copies stay current too.

Only you, until you choose to share. Your records are private by default — nothing is visible to anyone else until you explicitly grant access. On Pro Plus, you can set per-entry visibility and assign different roles to different people, so the right person sees only what they need to see, at the right time. The only people who will ever read your plan are those you have named yourself.

Everything you record is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your uploaded files — photos, recorded messages, audio — are stored in a fully private cloud bucket that is not accessible from the internet directly. All file access is served through our own API server with per-user permission checks; there are no direct public links to your files. Authentication is handled by Clerk, a dedicated identity platform used by thousands of companies. We do not run advertising, do not share your data with third parties for any commercial purpose, and our team does not access your plan content unless you specifically request support. Be Sure They Know is not a legal document and does not replace a will. A will deals with the legal distribution of your estate and must be prepared and witnessed according to the laws in your jurisdiction. Be Sure They Know covers the practical guidance the people around you need in the moments before, during, and after — your healthcare instructions, account details, pet care instructions, messages for the people you choose, and your story. The two things work together: a formal will handles the legal side, while your plan here makes sure nothing important is unknown, unfound, or unsaid. We strongly recommend having a will prepared by a qualified legal professional.

That is the whole point. The people you have named in My Contacts — your Go Team — can access your records according to the permissions you have set — immediately in an emergency, or on the conditions you have chosen. On Pro Plus, you can name a Release Confirmer: a trusted person who confirms that certain messages or sections can be released, so nothing sensitive reaches anyone at the wrong moment. Combined with a regular export kept somewhere your executor or the people around you can find, your plan becomes the most complete picture of your life and instructions that anyone could ask for.

The Release Confirmer is a person you trust — a solicitor, close friend, or someone close to you — who confirms that certain messages or information should be released. It adds an extra layer of control so that nothing sensitive reaches the wrong hands at the wrong time. You choose who they are, what they can confirm, and under what conditions. This is a Pro Plus feature.

You can cancel at any time — no questions asked, no penalty. If you cancel Pro Plus, your account moves to Essentials and everything you have written is preserved. Nothing is deleted. Before you cancel, we strongly recommend running a full export so you have a complete offline copy of your plan. Pro Plus-only content (video messages, sharing settings, export) will not be accessible until you resubscribe, but it remains safely stored on your account.
